INTER-GENERATIONAL MENTORING PROGRAM

Designed to build relationships among the generations and to increase the protective factors for high risk youth in order to prevent, reduce, or delay the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs and the problems associated with such use.

Both mentors and mentees can learn from each other.  Relationships are built on trust and empowering the youth to become productive citizens in the community.  This program offer educational experiences through adult interaction.

HUNGER RELIEF PROGRAM

Addressing the issue of food insecurity and hunger relief for aging adults in the Washington Metropolitan area has been identified as a growing need.  We provide hunger relief through collaborative efforts with food banks, local grocery stores, organic farmers markets, restaurants and the community at large to receive and distribute food.  We are always seeking funds and donations from the community as well to assist with the needs of this program.

SILVER ADVOCATES PROGRAM

​​Designed to provide vital information and answers to problems and issues on: Social Security, housing, healthcare, senior benefits, emergency assistance, Pre-retirement Counseling and Elder Abuse.

Our advocates will provide assistance to seniors living on their own, adult children caring for their parents, professional senior service providers, long-distance caregivers and government agencies.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS

​Promoting wellness as an optimum state of health and well-being, achieved through disease prevention and health promotion.  All services, programs and activities are designed to promote health, wellness and positive attitudes about aging.  It is our belief the key to wellness is identifying health risks and coaching those older adults on how to incorporate the necessary lifestyle changes to reduce those risks for diseases.

CASE MANAGEMENT

We provide each client with a comprehensive needs assessment and thorough case management.  Upon the clients inital contact with our organization a case manager will ehlp the client develop his/her care plan, which will help enable the client to live as indepently as possible.  The case management staff will coordinate the needs of the clients with all available community resources throughout the Washington, DC and metroplitan area.

 

SENIOR VILLAGE/SENIOR CONNECTION

Provides mobility by linking older adults to services and resources so they can live as independently as possible, while remaining integral members of the community.
